"Loving Me & You"

The intention of this lesson is to understand that being kind is something we can choose to be.
"Kindness"
"The Good Samaritan"
Luke 10:25-37

Story Focus
Exploring how to treat everyone with loving kindness and respect even if we feel they don't deserve it.

Metaphysical Interpretation
This is a story about learning to love everyone, and treating people with kindness and respect even if we don't like them. Samaritans were despised by everyone and the Priest and Lawyers were revered. Yet it was the Samaritan who helped the man. This show us that one must know himself in order to change. It is by our action that we can change who we are. When we raise our own consciousness we then help to raise the consciousness of all. The Good Samaritan represents the Christ within us who responds to the needs of others with love. Prayer, kind or inspiring words, and loving actions are ways to help. We would like to help the children lovingly respond to the needs of self, other people, animals and the environment within their daily lives. It is a choice we can make every day.

Spiritual Points
•    God is within everyone.
•    Everyone deserves love in their lives.
•    By unconditionally loving ourselves and others we call one another to a greater experience of love.
think about it
  1. What did Jesus say we must do to all we meet?
  2. Who is our neighbor?
  3. What happened to the man who was traveling?
  4. What did the first two men who found him do?
  5. What did the third man do?
  6. Which man was the kindest?
  7. What might have been the reason the first two men did not stop to help?
  8. What did their actions say about them?
  9. What reason might the third man have had for stopping and helping the injured man?
  10. If you were in a similar situation what would you do?
  11. If the person who needed your help was someone you did not like or were angry with, what would you do?
  12. How does extending kindness to others benefit everyone?
  13. What would you want to happen if you were the one who needed help?
  14. We are all created by the one God so what does this say about how we should be treating one another?
  15. What would the world be like if we all practiced loving kindness?
